What information do we collect about you and how will we use this information?

Employees:

We collect information about you when you apply to become an employee or contractor in our head office. If you enter into a contract with us to provide services to and on behalf of ESB (International) Ltd. we collect and process data to allow both parties to fulfil that contract. Relevant statutory or regulatory retention periods will be applied to the retention of this data along with ESB’s need to process data for academic research or statistical purposes.

 

Registered centres:

We collect information about you when you register with us or place a booking for our products or services. We also process the information you provide to us about your learners to carry out our contract with you to assess or examine your learners for our qualifications.  In order to carry out our contract with you we will ask centres that they have explicit consent to supply us with special personal data as this may be required when applying for reasonable adjustment for learners.

 

We also collect information when you voluntarily complete customer surveys, provide feedback, provide articles for our ESB News and enter into competitions or showcases. Relevant statutory or regulatory retention periods will be applied to the retention of this data along with ESB’s need to process data for academic research or statistical purposes.

 

Assessors & markers:

We collect information about you when you apply to become an assessor or marker. If you enter into a contract with us to provide services on behalf of ESB (International) Ltd. we collect and process data to allow both parties to fulfil that contract. We also collect information when you voluntarily complete feedback surveys, provide articles for our ESB News and nominate learners for competitions or showcases. Relevant statutory or regulatory retention periods will be applied to the retention of this data along with ESB’s need to process data for academic research or statistical purposes.

 

Members & Trustees:

We collect information about you when you apply to become a member of the company limited by guarantee of the English Speaking Board (International) Ltd. We also process the information you provide to us in order to carry out our legal obligation to you according to our Articles of Incorporation and associated Memorandum. We also collect information when you voluntarily complete surveys, provide feedback, provide articles for our ESB Journal. Relevant statutory or regulatory retention periods will be applied to the retention of this data along with ESB’s need to process data for academic research or statistical purposes.

 

How do we further use the information about you?

 

Marketing:

With your consent, we also may email you about other products and services, competitions, conferences and newsletters we think may be of interest to you. If you have consented to receive communications / marketing from us, you may opt out at a later date.

You have the right at any time to stop us from contacting you for marketing purposes. If you no longer wish to be contacted for marketing purposes, click here. ESB (International) Ltd. will not share your information for marketing purposes with any other organisation or entity.

 

Correction of and access to your information:

All our centres and assessors/markers have the responsibility to update the Customer Experience Team with their information to ensure that their personal information and that of their learners is correct.

All people for whom we hold personal information have the right to see the information that we hold or correct personal information if they do not have access to it by contacting the Customer Experience Team.

 

Right to erasure of your personal information:

You have the right to request that your personal information is erased. ESB will respond to that request outlining the impact this would have on contracts you may have entered into with ESB, and their status should the information be erased. You will then be asked to confirm if you still wish to go ahead. Should your personal data be required in order for ESB to fulfil regulatory or statutory responsibilities, you will be advised before confirming the erasure.

 

Cookies:

Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard internet log information and visitor behaviour. This information is used to track visitor use of the website and to compile statistical reports on website activity.
