Overview

Communicating with Music (Entry 1) is designed to develop interactive communication through the medium of music. Candidates will develop communication skills by working in a group with peers, tutors and support workers. The syllabus provides evidence towards Every Child Matters Outcomes Framework and the level aligns with Achievement Continuum Stage 2 Early Awareness & English P Scales P3 (i).

Syllabus

Communicating with Music (Entry 1) (QCF)

Candidates will respond to a music stimulus in their own individual way or by singing, moving hands or heads and communicating when greeting others in the group.

Candidates will select and play or respond in time to the musical stimulus, clap, beat, sing or vocal sounds.

Take part in any musical activity whilst singing, beating, clapping or showing positive awareness of the performance.  This can be a band, a signing choir or any other musical activity.

Respond to a music stimulus in own individual way or by singing, moving hands or heads and communicating when saying “Goodbye” to peers, tutors or support staff.
