{"id":2993,"date":"2019-05-24T20:01:52","date_gmt":"2019-05-24T19:01:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/esbuk.org\/?p=2993"},"modified":"2019-05-24T20:01:52","modified_gmt":"2019-05-24T19:01:52","slug":"celebrating-success-in-salford-esb-presents-reclaim-teens-with-well-earned-qualifications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/esbuk.org\/index.php\/celebrating-success-in-salford-esb-presents-reclaim-teens-with-well-earned-qualifications\/","title":{"rendered":"Celebrating success in Salford: ESB presents RECLAIM teens with well-earned qualifications."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"RECLAIM - Salford Girls - Graduation\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/P9wuAS-h_no?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-2994 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/esbuk.org\/web\/app\/uploads\/2019\/05\/tina-266x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"266\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If only all graduation ceremonies were as inspiring as this! <\/span><b>Tina Renshaw<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, ESB Chief Executive, presented certificates to young learners from the Manchester-based charity <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/esbuk.org\/case_studies\/inspiring-talent-north-west-youngsters\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RECLAIM<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to celebrate their fantastic achievement. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tina and two representatives from ESB followed in Morrissey&#8217;s footsteps up to the famous Salford Lads Club to congratulate the young learners on their completion of the <a href=\"https:\/\/esbuk.org\/esb-is-launching-new-speech-pathways-options\/\">Speech Pathways Pilot<\/a> qualification, &#8216;Speech to Inform&#8217;. For the assessment, the learners are encouraged to review a current news item, give a persuasive talk about a topic that interests them and give a presentation about something they are passionate about. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The youngsters, some of whom were initially afraid of standing up and speaking in front of their peers, chose topics ranging from climate change to feminism and all went on to pass their assessments.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Said Tina, &#8220;I&#8217;m incredibly proud to meet the RECLAIM learners. These inspirational young women have now got a recognised qualification that proves they can speak clearly and with confidence.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By giving them a platform and an opportunity to get their voices heard, they can keep their heads held high, and with these skills under their belts, some of them may become leaders someday.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2995\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2995\" style=\"width: 512px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2995 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/esbuk.org\/web\/app\/uploads\/2019\/05\/group.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"341\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2995\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The RECLAIM Graduates<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Katie Cosgrave<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Alumni Lead at RECLAIM said after the event:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After seeing the impact ESB has had on these young people, I feel it is incredibly important that we continue to do these qualifications here at RECLAIM.
