ESB Oral Skills for School Interviews is designed for any Year 6 child likely to face an interview on moving to senior school. The syllabus covers preparation for an interview as well as practice being interviewed. The assessment includes a 1 to 1 interview with an ESB Examiner.
Tell the group which school you have chosen, then introduce yourself, describing any particular interests and strengths you would bring to the school you have selected. Use any visual material that is appropriate.Close
Bring the prospectus or a section from the website of the school you wish to attend and read aloud a short extract (80 - 100 words). Choose two points which particularly interest you and explain why.Close
The assessor, as the interviewer, will ask you some questions about your interests, hobbies, achievements or ambitions and why you would like to attend the school. Ask the interviewer one or two questions you have prepared.Close
The marks for this section are awarded for your questions and answers during Sections 1 and 2.Close
